A Survey System Description is a named or numbered area of land that can be identified by a type and a designator. The survey system is generally a simultaneous conveyance that defines an area of land within which there is a consistent method of land description. These areas are typically non-federally managed lands. The special surveys polygons define the non-plss system areas for federally managed lands. The first, second and third division attributes are provied if needed for an application. These attributes are not needed if the intent is to track plats and subdivision or other survey systems only.
To provide a mapped area for the subdivisions, condominiums and other surveys that define the external extent of surveyed areas. The divisons of survey systems are defined in this feature class and may be included.
